People with disabilities (PWDs) are frequently excluded from the mainstream of the society and hence, may not be able to make contributions to the development of the society at all or optimally. It is increasingly being identified that bringing humans with disabilities into the development mainstream will have a good sized impact in any format to cust poverty in the country. A latest assessment of disability issues in Nigeria identified many factors why the disability agenda continues to suffer. Notable among them were: the absence of incapacity discrimination laws, lack of social protection, bad appreciation of disability issues with the aid of the public, inability to gain admission into rehabilitation services and lack of coordinating shape at all levels.
