WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Women are the backbone of every society and at Andy Young Foundation, we look to empower as one many women as possible, especially the indigent and uneducated ones amongst them with basic resources to be able to care and cater for their immediate families. Empowering them, will ensure that they’re able to care for their children and by effect, ensure a steady decline in incidents of child hunger across these communities.
Over the last few years, we’ve been able to reach out to indigent women across the south east through our women empowerment programs. The empowerment of women in Mgbagbu-Owa community in Ezeagu Local Government area of Enugu state is the most recent of them. We were able to give out thirty thousand naira each to 116 women of the community to support themselves and their businesses in order to earn a livelihood for themselves and their families.
Women Empowerment will always be very important to us at THE ANDY YOUNG FOUNDATION as we believe that empowering women will ensure the sustenance of any society’s future.
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
The youths are the backbone upon which any great society is built. Proper engagement and empowerment of youths will significantly increase productivity while similarly reducing the rate of violent crimes within communities. That is why Andy Young Foundation prioritizes the empowerment of young people through, scholarship programs, tech skill workshops as well as vocational training.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve empowered and inspired youths to play active roles in the society by giving them the necessary skills to become better individuals contributing to society’s development.
Some of these empowerment outreaches include but not limited to the following;
Empowerment of youths with tricycles, motorcycles and Garri processing machines to Sustain themselves.
We also empower youths with technological skills to be become valuable to themselves and the society.
We also empower persons with disability with jobs, skills, tools and finances.
